About
Maureen Lynch
Maureen Lynch has been designing jewellery since graduating from The National College of Art and Design, Dublin in the late 1980s. She originally set up a business in Kilkenny, following studies in Copenhagen, which certainly influenced her style. Further studies in stone setting in Vancouver followed before Maureen returned to Dublin in 1998.
Maureen’s jewellery is renowned for its sophisticated simplicity where detail is considered and restrained. Her modern designs are softened with natural curves and lines, making each piece wearable, versatile and a subtle statement of elegance. Her work is incredibly tactile and, without the addition of surface detail, light reflects beautifully from each piece.
A member of the Crafts Council of Ireland and the recipient of many awards and accolades, Maureen Lynch jewellery is available from a number of key retailers in Ireland and the UK and at www.maureenlynch.ie. She is exhibiting at The National Crafts Fair at the RDS, Dublin 4 from the 30th November to 4th December 2011 and at Showcase Ireland at the RDS in January 2012.
2011 has been a landmark year as it has seen her profile in the UK & USA grow considerably. She is one of just ten Irish jewellers to be invited to exhibit at the Inhorgenta design fair in Munich in February 2012, one of the premier jewellery trade shows in Europe with over 1,100 exhibitors.
Maureen is married with 3 small children. She works from her Dun Laoghaire studio designing and perfecting her jewellery collections and made to order commissions. |
